Triangulum, Pleiades, M42, and Horsehead

Exciting nebulae are starting to rise early enough that I can get some imaging done on them! M 45 (the Pleiades), M 42 (the great Orion Nebula), and Barnard 33 (the Horsehead Nebula) are becoming possible for the first time since I’ve bought my Dwarf 3 (aka Wormwood).

From my house, my view of these is limited to the top of our nine foot camper van. Unfortunately, it’s nearly impossible to do a polar alignment from there. So I’m limited to alt/az, with 15-second exposures.

My first night, I had clear skies before M 45 rose high enough to photograph. So I looked at M 33, the Triangulum Galaxy. Here it is:

So far I have two nights of data on M 45, and one night each on M 42 and Barnard 33. Here is M 45 so far:

M 45, the Pleiades, from September 25 and 27 2025. 1306 subs, 15 seconds, 60 gain, astro filter.

I got M 42 on September 25th:

M 42 from September 25, 2025. 305 subs, 15 seconds, 60 gain, duo filter.

Finally, here is the Horsehead Nebula from September 27:

Barnard 33, the Horsehead Nebula, taken September 27, 2025. 262 subs, 15 seconds, 60 gain, duo filter.

I only got one night each for M 42 and Barnard 33, because they’re competing for time. I need more clear nights (or early mornings) to get more data.
